It was the beauty
of the Florida Gulf Coast that first inspired Jeanne McGrath to paint.
She started oil painting in 1970, then changed to watercolors in 1972.
During the next few years she developed
her "wet on wet" technique, benefiting from the instruction of many local
artists.
From 1976 to 1997,
Jeanne has lived in a variety of locations as a result of her husband's
work assignments -- Arkansas, Iowa, St. Louis, Tyrol Austria, San Diego
and now in retirement, back to good old Pensacola. She is fortunate to
have gained recognition for her work in a number of shows over the years.
More significant perhaps,
is the ongoing learning experience afforded by the opportunity to paint
and study with talented artists having different perspectives in widely
differing locales. This can be seen in her freedom of expression
and in her use of color and design. |
