C.C. first decided to be an artist when she was very little.   She attended St. Peter’s High School in New Brunswick, NJ where she was taught by Faustino Quintinilla.  Upon graduation, she went to Montclair State College, but dropped out in the middle of her junior year to pursue life.

After a 5-year hiatus from art, in 1996, C.C. discovered that she had a broken neck from birth and underwent surgery.  It was during this time that with the help of a fellow artist David Gulotta she started painting again.  In 1998, C.C. underwent surgery again as the first one failed and with the help of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation she became a student at du Cret School of the Arts in Plainfield, NJ where she learned new techniques and media.  Upon graduation with a 3.86 GPA, C.C. moved to Pensacola, Florida in 2002.

C.C. is an artist-in-residence at the Belmont Art and Cultural Center where she teaches classes in stained glass.  C.C. was co-owner of IMAGO Fine Arts Gallery, Pensacola, FL during its inception in 2004. C.C. has works in galleries in NJ, Florida and Colorado, as well as many pieces in private collections throughout the United States and Australia.

Artist Statement

As an artist I feel that it is my job to combine the traditional with the modern.  I work in a classical renaissance technique, so that we do not forget where we come from, but I sometimes add in an element of collage, to signify looking ahead to the future.  But in every piece, there is always a face, sometimes several.

These faces are the memories that haunt my mind.  They remind me of who I was, where I am going, and who I am yet to be.  They are the different sides of my personality that together make up who I am as a whole.

Do you see them too?
