UltraViolet, the all-female group was formed back in 1992 and played
until 2002. In the beginning they were a five member band that
recently decided it was time to get the group back together.
Three of the original members Diana Bailey (drums), Lisa Hornbrook
(guitar) and Cindy Symington (bass and vocals) came here to Paddy
O’Leary’s to hear Nicole Bowen (guitar and vocals) play during an Open
Mic Night and the rest is “Beach History”.
UltraViolet plays classic rock hits from artists such as Led Zeppelin,
Guns N' Roses, Johnny Cash, Black Sabbath and Prince. Bowen,
Hornbrook and Symington have written some of their own original
material that they are starting to work on together.
Ultraviolet definitely wants to put out a CD at some point, but for
now, they are just happy to be playing again, and the beach is where
it's at. They say playing on Pensacola Beach is "invigorating and
inspiring." With the tourists and variety of locals, there are
always fresh faces here on the beach.
More
than anything, UltraViolet just wants to play music and have fun, and
they'll take everything as it comes, whether it's new originals, a CD
or a small tour.
